With the end of year period not far away, we remind patients of the importance of being prepared for any upcoming routine medications or referrals that you may need.
As reported all around the country, demand for GP appointments is higher than has been experienced for many years. As a result, our waiting times for appointments are longer than they usually would be which is then further impacted by a number of public holidays over the end of year and new year period.
Our doctors are unable to provide any prescriptions or referrals without an appointment. Appointments can be face to face in the clinic, or for eligible patients, via a telehealth (telephone) consultation. All appointments (whether face to face or telehealth) require an appointment to be booked. We offer a number of options for patients requiring an appointment;
- We strongly encourage pre-booking appointments at least 1 month in advance for routine prescriptions and referrals
- We have a number of ‘on-the-day’ appointments that become available each weekday at 8.30am. Patients are welcome to call us on (02) 6059 2500 daily to try to secure one of these appointments for acute care needs (if a medical emergency – always call 000)
- If an ‘on-the-day’ appointment is not available, patients can be placed on a daily waiting list and our reception team will call you if a cancellation becomes available
Pre-booking your routine script and referral appointments is the best way of ensuring you have an appointment booked prior to your medications running out.
